The project area between Gazi University and Ankara University campuses is located next to the Konya road from the main arteries of Ankara. The structure, which has a live and intense circulation due to its location, contains the concepts of public space / private space in a balanced manner. 

As a secondary shelter for young people, who are mostly first time separated from the city / home they live in, the dormitories are generally settled in the minds as restrictive / limiter habitats where adaptation in terms of belonging and individuality is difficult. Therefore, in the design process, solutions were searched to eliminate these and similar disadvantages, and the psychological and physiological comfort of the youth in the areas that they will use individually and collectively was given priority.

Unlike the dormitory buildings, which are generally designed as introverted especially in terms of security, Mevlana Dormitory is an extroverted and public mass with shops on the ground floor and restaurants and cafes on the first floor. The project consists of single and triple rooms designed between the second and eighth floors, a gym, a conference room and a library designed on the second floor and common work and rest areas on each floor, also a dining hall on the ninth floor. Areas in different scale ranging from individual living areas to social / cultural facilities that allow groups or collective activities have been formed.
